educational and administrative needs
of the residency and fellowship
training programs.
1989
The clinical trials group formed in 1986 was
named the Psychiatric Research Institute and was
established under the auspices of what is now
Ascension Via Christi. Sheldon Preskorn, M.D.,
was the founding president and medical director.

Family Medicine Residency Director
The sine qua non of family
practice is the knowledge and skill
which allow the family physician
to confront relatively large
numbers of unselected patients
with unselected conditions and to
carry on therapeutic relationships
with patients over time.
